Solution: Turn on 32bit addressing. To do this, go to the control panels, open "Memory" and check the option "32bit addressing". If this option is not checked, your Mac can only recognize 8 MB and any additional RAM you might have is considered to be used by the system software. Best wishes, Christian. -- Christian F. Quick question... Under system 7.6.1, what exactly is an Error type 10? I looked it up with "Easy Errors" 1.2 which indicates the description as "line 1111 trap error", but that really does not help me out a whole lot. My client indicates it happens rather randomly: while hooked up to an online service, sometimes while in Microsoft Word 6.0.1, etc... Any hints, or perhaps a better place to hunt for the answer? I have Clarisworks v5.0, and I am having trouble translating them. I did it some years ago, using Apple File Exchange. Now with v 7.5.3 OS on a Performa Powermac neither, I can bring up the disk contents, but I cannot read the file. "Get Info" tells me the file is a ProDos document, and when I click on it, it tells me there is no application named ProDos on the system. Dragging it into the Clarisworks icon does nothing -- it is just ignored. Trying to open it from within Clarisworks does not work, because Clarisworks does not even show the file in the selection window. I also have an LCII running os 7.1.1. I can transfer the file to the hardrive using AFE, but doing anything more crashes the system. Help would be appreciated. It does so by saving the differences between files, so that the multiple copies don't get too huge. My old 300 dpi laser printer is ready for the non-profit donor wagon and I'm looking to buy a new printer. Used to be a time when I wouldn't consider a laserjet but I've been hearing that there are some major quality improvements over the last couple years. I'm looking for recommendations for a printer, laser or laserjet. I'd like to hear what y'all think are some of the best options for under $800. I'm not decided if I want color - my primary concern is printer reliability and image quality - but I'll consider it if the price is right. Not too hard to fix with either >SAM or Microsoft's SCANPROT (Macro Virus Protection Tool). The problem with this is that when the virus is eradicated, you are still left with a file that "thinks" it is a macro. I have hacked an autotyper that will return the type and creator back to a Word 6 document rather than a Word macro. Obviously, you want to do this after removing the virus. The SAM log gives a listing of files that have been fixed, making it easy to locate these and drop them on the autotyper. -------------------------------- --Info-Mac-Digest-- End of Info-Mac Digest ******************************
