About a month ago, I finally decided that I wasn't very good at it. I played the actual game well enough, but it always seemed that my decks were pretty weak. So, I made the Book of Decks. Essentially it is a database of all of the Magic: The Gathering=81 cards available. It also allows you to select from these cards to assemble your own decks. As you assemble your decks the software gives you different types of feedback that help you see your decks' weaknesses and strengths. It will also give you suggestions to help you improve your deck. It is a classic "roll and move" game, the winner being the one who reaches the top of the screen before the other players do. Any or all of the players may be run by the computer. All the important action is handled by clicking the mouse on pictures on the screen or by pushing the Space bar on the keyboard. All dialog boxes are read aloud, so no reading is necessary. The Story Thus Far... Five friends are out for a picnic. They are Hot Dog Harry (a hot dog), Sweet Chips (a pickle slice), Cheeseman (a piece of cheese), Gidget Grape (a grape), and Bugaloo (a bug). Just before they get to eat, however, The Evil Burger Kong (who has a thing for pickles) swings by and kidnaps Sweet Chips. The objective, then, is to rescue poor Sweet Chips from The Evil Burger Kong. Snack Attack runs on 68040 or better Macintoshes with System 7 or later. We recommend a resolution of 640x480 pixels, but larger sizes are supported. You should have at least 5M of free RAM available. Snack Attack runs in 256 color mode; it will adjust your monitor for you if you desire. Snack Attack is distributed as shareware. You have 30 days to try it and see if you like it before purchasing a license for it. The cost of a license for Snack Attack is US $12. Your goal is to free all of the trapped Snoods by launching other Snoods at them. If you connect three or more Snoods, they will transport away. If that leaves any Snoods not connected to the top of the playfield, they will fall to safety. Don't take too long, though. Every Snood you launch increases the Danger Level. When the gauge fills up, the Snoods will shift downward. If the Snoods reach you, the game is over. SPECIAL NOTE FOR PARENTS: Snood is a good game for children as well as adults. The game is non-violent and non-confrontational, and children can play at their own pace. It develops several basic skills, including matching, calculation of angles, and simple strategic assessment and problem solving. It does not require reading, and the controls are very simple. The Child difficulty level is easy enough even for young children. ______________________________________________________________________ New in version 2.1: * "Journey" difficulty level * Load and Save Puzzle Games * High score verification ______________________________________________________________________ Minimum requirements: * Mac with 68030 or newer processor (68040 or PPC recommended) * System 7 (System 6.0.7 reportedly works, too) * Screen size of 640x480 pixels or larger * 256 or more color monitor [Archived as /info-mac/game/snood-21.hqx; 842K] ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Aug 1998 17:04:45 -0700 From: BjoernBojahr@t-online.de Subject: [*] Umlautkonverter Umlautkonverter =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Very small Freeware-Program to convert some german characters (=C4/=DC/=D6/= =DF) into their international characters (Ae/Ue/Oe/ss).
