It has a great user interface and very useful search functions. CDFinder supports drag&drop and requires a PowerPC CPU. While System 8.6 is required, CDFinder is also fully compatible to MacOS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X. A special feature is the multi-lingual user interface (German/French/English/Italian/Swedish/Spanish/Chinese). Together with CDWinder 1.6 for Windows, this is a special cross platform, network solution to catalog disks and CD-ROMs on a Macintosh and a PC. The new version can be obtained from the CDFinder home page . A single user license of CDFinder is $25, multi user licenses are available. New in CDFinder 3.6.3: - The Windows menu has been updated to work in Jaguar (Mac OS X 10.2) - CDFinder now reads the new MP3-Tag "Composer" that was introduced in iTunes 3.0. - CDFinder can now import existing Disk Recall 1.2.8 catalogs, giving those users a migration path to Mac OS X (as there is no Mac OS X version of Disk Recall). - The Setup Assistant has a new language menu in the first page to allow a direct switch to a different language in CDFinder. - A few minor display problems in Mac OS X are solved. This version requires Mac OS 8.6 and CarbonLib 1.3.1 or newer. Contact: Norbert M. File Buddy is quite simply the best utility available for working with files and folders on your Macintosh. First released more than nine years ago, it has been continually enhanced, improved, and supported since that time. File Buddy 7 requires a PowerPC-based Macintosh with Mac OS X or Mac OS 9 and CarbonLib 1.5 or later. File Buddy 6 requires a PowerPC-based Macintosh with System 7.6 or later. File Buddy 5 is available for 68K Macintoshes. * View and edit a wide range of file and folder information in the info window. * Create droplet applications that automatically apply changes to items dropped on them, including the contents of folders. * Find files and folders using an extensive set of search criteria. Enhance file searches with plug-ins that extend file search capabilities. Conveniently perform a wide variety of actions on found items. Make File Buddy your default file finding application using the File Buddy CP control panel. * Use the Rename window to modify the names of multiple files at once. For example, remove ".txt" from the names of a group of files. Replace characters in multiple names. * Use contextual menus to accomplish many tasks in a single step. * Create custom icons: from PICTs on the clipboard; from the contents of graphics files and, with Mac OS X, PDF files; from other icons; for folders using a variety of templates; with blank icons; using only small icons. View complete icon families with the icon family viewer. * Create aliases. * Find empty files and folders, orphaned files, duplicate files, broken aliases, and unused preference files. * Automatically repair broken aliases * Move, delete, and copy files. Even copy invisible files and use the Replace Different option to skip copying files that already exist. * Delete data and resource forks from files. * Erase files, entire folders, and unused disk space to avoid unauthorized recovery of deleted files. * Create snapshots that can be used to track the changes on a disk, such as files installed by an installer. Use snapshots to uninstall applications. * Much, much more... PandoCalendar is a useful Mac-only program places a fully functional calendar on your desktop. The look is completely customizable. You can change the calendar font and its size, and the calendar's background color; you can center the current week (so you are always able to look back and ahead a full month at a time), display the numerical number of the weeks of the year, display the calendar with European style weeks (Monday being the first day and Sunday being the last), assign notes to any day of the year by clicking on the day in the calendar, and set alarms to remind you of time sensitive events. You can also have PandoCalendar automatically plot the days you work. Great for people who don't have a Monday-Friday work schedule! Version 6.0 - PandoCalendar now requires Mac OS X 10.1. The calendar background can now be transparent. Frames can now support alpha channel transparency. The dock icon now displays the current day of month. Fixed slowdowns when running on Mac OS X 10.2. Removed anti-aliasing preference, it is now always on. Fixed a bug that could cause the command, option, or control keys to act as if they are being held down if a reminder is displayed as one of the keys was being pressed. Note balloons now open in front of the dock. You can eliminate this problem by unchecking the option to launch Classic on startup of OS X in the Classic panel. Apple acknowledges the bug, which is probably eliminated in Jaguar, in a tech note. You may have noticed that OS X continues booting even after the desktop appears. You can launch apps, but waiting until it has finished before launching Classic eliminates the pasting problem between Classic and OS X. Hope this helps (I'm a little behind in my digests!).
